The short version: Leavely is built to work without collecting your personal information. In the app, everything you enter stays on your device. We do not sell or share your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
This policy applies to the Leavely mobile app for iOS and Android ("the app") and to the Leavely website and web tool at leavely.org ("the web tool"), published by Leavely LLC. Both help U.S. employees check their leave eligibility and plan their time off. There are no accounts, no ads, and no third-party advertising trackers in either.
In the app: none. Everything you enter — your state, employer size, work start date, weekly pay, the reason for your leave, the date you notified your employer, and the days you mark on your calendar — is stored only in the app's local storage on your device. It is never transmitted to Leavely or to any third party.
In the web tool: to calculate your result, the web tool sends the inputs you enter (such as your state, employer size, hours, and a general leave category) to our server, where they are used only to compute and return your result and are then discarded. We do not store those inputs, associate them with your identity, log them alongside identifiers, or use them to track or profile you. We retain only anonymous, aggregate counts — for example, how many checks were run in a given state — to understand overall usage.
Some information you may enter — such as selecting that your leave is for your own serious health condition, a pregnancy, or caring for a family member — can relate to health, and may be considered "consumer health data" under laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act, the Nevada consumer health data law, and the Connecticut Data Privacy Act.
We handle this information conservatively:
We do not sell consumer health data, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use it to serve ads. If you are a Washington, Nevada, or Connecticut resident and have questions or requests about health-related data, contact us at info@leavely.org.
In the app, your inputs are used solely on your device to calculate estimates and display your calendar, deadlines, and pay estimate; no one at Leavely can see them. In the web tool, your inputs are used only to calculate and show your eligibility result, then discarded, and we retain only anonymous aggregate counts.
If you choose to add reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device for your leave deadlines. These are created and delivered entirely on your device. No notification content is sent through Leavely or any external server.
The core features of the app work offline and make no network requests. If you tap an external link (for example, to a state program's website or the Leavely web tool), your device's browser opens that site under its own privacy policy.
We do not share or sell your personal information. There are no advertising partners, data brokers, or third-party advertising trackers in the app, and we do not sell or share any information collected through the web tool.
In the app, your data lives only on your device for as long as you keep it. You can clear a plan at any time from within the app, and uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. In the web tool, we do not retain your inputs after your result is computed, so there is nothing for us to delete; we hold only anonymous aggregate counts that are not linked to you.
Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington, Nevada, and other states with privacy laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of personal information a business holds about you, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. Because the app keeps your information only on your device and the web tool does not retain it, in most cases you can already exercise these rights yourself by clearing or uninstalling the app. To make a request or ask a question, email info@leavely.org and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not "sell" or engage in cross-context behavioral advertising with your information.
The Leavely app is a paid subscription with a 7-day free trial, then $4.99 per month unless cancelled. All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by Leavely. We never receive or store your card number or billing details. The app may check your subscription status through the App Store or Google Play so it knows whether your subscription is active; this status check does not identify you to us. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings, subject to those stores' terms.
Leavely is intended for working adults and is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided information through a Leavely channel, contact us at info@leavely.org.
Leavely provides general information and estimates about leave programs. It is not legal, medical, or financial advice, and your eligibility and benefit amounts are determined by your employer and the relevant program. See our Terms of Use.
If you use our contact form or email us, we keep your message and the email address you provide so we can read it and follow up. We use that information only to respond to you, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising.
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised version at this page.
